The
Tax Commissioner is elected by the voters for four year terms. The Tax
Commissioner is responsible for preparing the annual tax digest, mailing
property tax bills and motor vehicle tag pre-bills to county residents,
collecting all county, Board of Education, City of Hawkinsville and state
property taxes, recording intangible taxes, selling county and city motor
vehicle license plates, transferring vehicle titles, and issuing county
and city mobile home decals.
